Hey y’all, just wanted to hop on here and talk more about why I chose gap year!
I bet all of you remember your family members, teachers, and friends asking you the famous question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” When I got asked that question I never really gave a clear answer. Honestly, not much has changed since then. I have always thought about doing missions, I just didn’t know how to go about getting involved.
The summer after my freshman year of high school I decided to go on a weeklong mission trip to Guatemala through my church. I not only went there to share the love of Jesus and spend quality time with the kids and teachers, I also used that trip as a way for me to see if missions was something I felt called to do for an extended amount of time. It was one of the best experiences I have ever been a part of. It really opened my eyes to the love Jesus offers us, and how trusting and putting your hope in God does so much for your faith.
Not only did that trip open my eyes to Jesus’ love for us, but it showed me how much this world needs to see and hear about Him. If one of my biggest passions is sharing Jesus with others, why wouldn’t I use that passion in this amazing way?
That being said, I am SO excited for what’s to come in the next year. God is already doing some amazing things through fundraising! I know he will continue to provide and use my story to impact others! Cant wait to continue interacting with y’all! 🙂
:))))))
guatemala=the best place on earth!!!!! I am so excited to follow your journey and see the ways the Lord will work before you ever even hit the field! His provision and faithfulness has been so evident in my season of fundraising and preparation, and I can’t wait to read about the things He teaches you!
